We’ve all been there – you’ve created a fantastic blog post or you’ve launched a new product, and where do you go from there? To Facebook of course, to social that bad boy.

You’ve hit share, and you’re sitting back watching Google Analytics waiting for the traffic to start hitting your site.

But, then you notice it.

There’s an error in your blog title, or Facebook isn’t pulling the correct image through even though you *know* you’ve set it correctly and you start scrambling to get it fixed before anyone else shares your content.

Want to know the easy way to fix it?

Welcome to your new best friend – The Facebook Debugger.

I’ve been using The Facebook Debugger for years now, and it’s one of my favourite tools when it comes to Social Media.

So what does The Facebook Debugger do?

In basic terms, it scrapes your content to bring through what Facebook sees and shows on the platform when you share your URL.

This tool is so handy that you *need* to start using it every single time that you share something on Facebook – it’s the only real way for you to see how Facebook is presenting your site to the world.

Need to change something like your headline or image? Updating your content for SEO purposes? Then you need to visit the Facebook Debugger and make sure that it’s refreshing your content for others when they share it as well.

So, how do you do it?

  1. Head on over to Facebook Debugger (make sure you bookmark that link as well).

2. Once you’re at the Facebook Debugger, enter the URL that you’re wanting to share.

3.Hit ‘Debug’ and wait for the next screen to load

4. You should then see something like the below

  • Google+
  • Pinterest
  • reddit

       5. Have you changed something and it’s not showing? Hit ‘Scrape’. Keep on doing this until the new information comes through (and it will).

       6. Congratulations! Now when anyone shares your URL to Facebook, this is exactly what will be shown on Facebook.
